First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) Service

Nightingales PCN now has a new First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) Service who will be working alongside the teams at each of the 6 PCN surgeries.

First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs) are physiotherapists based in GP surgeries with an expertise in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, which means you may not need to see a GP.

You will be assessed by the first contact physiotherapist, who will then recommend the most effective treatment options for you. This may also include onwards referrals for investigations or to other services.

If you are registered with any of the following practices, you will be able to access the FCP service:

• Hollyoaks Medical Centre
• Hollywood Medical Practice
• Winyates Health Centre
• Crabbs Cross Surgery
• Crabbs Cross Medical Practice
• The Ridgeway Surgery

If you are aged over 16 and are concerned about a musculoskeletal problem you may be offered an appointment with the FCP.

These types of concerns may include:

  • Joint pain
  • Tendon or ligament problems
  • Muscle pain
  • Sporting injuries
  • Neck pain
  • Back pain
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Osteoarthitis
  • Trapped nerves
  • Sciatica

If you need to be reviewed for an MSK related issue, please contact your practice reception team.
